2017 HART COUNTY, GEORGIA

When an emergency occurs,

whatever it may be, 9-1-1

should be called.

When a 9-1-1 call comes in

to the 9-1-1 headquarters,

emergency personnel answer

the call, simultaneously the

location appears on the con-

sole. The 9-1-1 personnel can

dispatched to the location.

The County’s Public Safety

services are coordinated so

that the appropriate people

and equipment are dispatched

immediately for an emergen-

cy.

Addresses and phone num-

bers are constantly updated by

9-1-1 staff. The E-911 Ad-

dressing office is responsible

for assigning newly created ad-

dresses, as well as naming new

roads within the county.

If you have recently moved, please contact the E-911 Ad-

dressing office and advise them of the change.

County ordinance chapter 66, section 67 requires that 911

address numbers be posted at every address in the county.

These signs have to be displayed at the driveway entering your

residence. It is alright to display big numbers on the mailbox,

but that mailbox has to be beside the driveway to the house.

The 911 numbers, which display the residents’ street numbers,

are available through 4-H at a cost of $15. The signs are illumi-

nated and highly visible even at night. To order 911 address

numbers, call the 4-H office at 706-376-3134. All proceeds

benefit the county’s 4-H program.

Emergency management is a term used to describe the steps

taken by government agencies including Public Safety and pri-

vate sector partners to plan, organize, prepare and respond to

provide service and actions for the saving of lives, protection of

property, and the recovery from the effects of an emergency,

disaster or catastrophe.
